PVESC is an expanding multi-specialty and emergency veterinary practice located in Portland, Maine. We are dedicated to fostering professional growth, teamwork, and providing outstanding patient care.
Exciting Opportunity Ahead! Our brand-new 42,000-square-foot hospital is set to open soon, offering expanded specialty services and creating exciting new opportunities for our team.
What You’ll Do
• Administer medications and chemotherapy under the supervision of oncologists.
• Assist with diagnostics, including laboratory work, imaging, and CT.
• Support oncology appointments, ensuring smooth patient flow and scheduling.
• Participate in our radioactive I-131 program for hyperthyroid cats.
• Maintain precise medical records, treatment notes, and drug logs.
• Educate and communicate compassionately with clients.
• Collaborate with Internal Medicine, Surgery, Radiology, and other specialty teams.
• Provide patient-centered care and support throughout the treatment process.
What We’re Looking For
• Licensed/credentialed Veterinary Technician or experienced Veterinary Assistant.
• Experience in oncology or specialty medicine is preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Familiarity with EzyVet or SmartFlow is a plus.
• A compassionate, positive, and team-oriented approach.
Schedule & Compensation
• Full-time, 4-day work week
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM, with one weekday off.
• Enjoy weekends off.
• Scheduling will be based on current hospital needs and discussed during the interview process.
• Occasional holidays may be required.
• Compensation ranges from $25 to $38/hour based on experience.
• Eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $5000 based on experience and credentials.
