A well-established, mid-size law firm is seeking an experienced attorney to support a mixed employment and business disputes practice that combines day-to-day counseling with active litigation. This is a confidential opportunity for a senior associate or partner-level attorney who enjoys variety across employment counseling, employment litigation, and complex commercial litigation, with the ability to manage matters with meaningful autonomy.

THE ROLE






- Counsel employers on a wide range of workplace issues and risk management questions.
- Handle employment litigation in state and federal court and before administrative agencies.
- Conduct and support workplace investigations, including sensitive harassment-related matters.
- Draft, review, and update employee handbooks and workplace policies.
- Manage complex business and commercial litigation matters, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and hearings.
- Partner with clients and internal teams to drive strategy, communicate clearly, and manage deadlines with minimal supervision.






LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION





Location:

Chicago, Illinois.





Schedule:

Hybrid (in-office and remote).





Compensation:

$200,000 salary.





REQUIREMENTS






- Active Illinois bar admission in good standing.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience spanning employment counseling and employment litigation, plus business and commercial litigation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage matters with limited supervision, including strong legal writing, research, oral advocacy, and client-facing communication skills.






PREFERRED BACKGROUND






- Experience drafting and revising employee handbooks and workplace policies.
- Experience handling proceedings before employment-related administrative agencies.
- Portable book of business sufficient to support senior-level practice.
