Job Description
A confidential boutique litigation firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Litigation Associate to join its Chicago practice. This is a 100 percent defense-side litigation role handling sophisticated general liability matters, with the opportunity to support aviation-related disputes depending on experience and interest.

THE ROLE
- Manage insurance defense litigation matters involving premises liability, product liability, wrongful death, and related general liability claims.
- Handle day-to-day case development including pleadings, written discovery, depositions, and motion practice.
- Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, and trial preparation as needed.
- Work directly with clients and internal stakeholders to develop strategy, evaluate exposure, and drive matters toward resolution.
LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION

Schedule:
In office 5 days/week
Compensation:
$100,000 to $200,000 base salary (commensurate with experience)
REQUIREMENTS
- Active Illinois bar admission in good standing.
- 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience, including premises liability, product liability, wrongful death, and similar matters.
- Experience level sufficient to work up a case with minimal supervision (including independently managing core litigation tasks).
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
PREFERRED BACKGROUND
- Aviation-related litigation experience is a strong plus.
