A confidential, established Texas-based insurance defense litigation practice is seeking an experienced litigation attorney to manage a busy civil defense docket and take on substantive advocacy work. This is a strong fit for a hands-on litigator who wants ownership of matters, regular deposition and hearing opportunities, and a long-term growth path.

THE ROLE






- Manage insurance defense matters from inception through resolution, including case strategy and day-to-day file ownership.
- Handle written discovery, prepare witnesses, and take and defend depositions.
- Draft and argue motions, including discovery and dispositive motions.
- Appear in court for hearings and other proceedings as needed.
- Evaluate exposure, advise clients, and drive resolution through negotiation and litigation.
- Maintain timely client communication and provide practical case assessments.






LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION





Location:

Dallas-Fort Worth area, Texas.





Schedule:

Hybrid. In office 4 days per week, with the option for 1 remote day per week. Additional remote flexibility may be available after an initial ramp-up period.





Compensation:

$160,000 to $180,000 base salary.





REQUIREMENTS






- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active Texas bar admission in good standing.
- 5+ years of insurance defense litigation experience (ideal range is 8 to 10+ years).
- Experience with one or more of the following: auto liability, trucking, product liability, or construction defect defense.
- Ability and willingness to meet a 2,000-hour annual billable target.
- Strong legal writing, motion practice, and case management skills.






PREFERRED BACKGROUND






- Comfort managing matters with a high degree of autonomy, including day-to-day docket ownership.
