A respected, defense-focused litigation firm is confidentially seeking an Associate Attorney to support a busy Dallas-based insurance coverage and insurance defense practice. This is a strong fit for a mid-level litigator who wants hands-on responsibility across coverage analysis and litigation, alongside complex liability matters including professional liability, healthcare-related disputes, construction defect, personal injury defense, and premises liability.

THE ROLE






- Handle a variety of defense-side matters, including insurance coverage disputes and related litigation.
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery; manage case strategy and day-to-day case progression.
- Take and defend depositions; assist with hearings, mediations, and trial preparation as needed.
- Analyze policy language and coverage issues and provide practical guidance to clients and internal teams.






LOCATION, SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION





Location:

Dallas, Texas





Schedule:

Primarily in-office; limited remote flexibility is available (typically 1 day per week).





Compensation:

$140,000 to $180,000 base salary for attorneys under 8 years of experience (USD). More senior candidates may be considered with compensation commensurate with experience.





REQUIREMENTS






- Active Texas bar license, or eligibility to obtain Texas admission within 6 months.
- 4 to 10 years of litigation experience, including at least 2 years focused on insurance coverage.
- Background that includes some combination of medical malpractice defense, construction defect, personal injury defense, and/or premises liability.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Strong legal writing and motion practice skills, with the ability to manage matters with appropriate independence.






PREFERRED BACKGROUND






- Courtroom aptitude and comfort taking depositions and appearing at hearings.
- Experience aligned with defense work involving insurance coverage, professional liability, healthcare, and commercial litigation issues.
- Strong academic and/or prior law firm credentials.






COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS






- Annual bonus target: approximately $8,000 to $20,000, based on hours and evaluation.
- No hard billable requirement; soft hours goal is approximately 160 hours per month.
- Benefits include medical coverage, a 401(k) with employer match, and unlimited PTO (as provided by firm policy).
