An AM Law 140 firm is seeking a 4th–5th year Commercial Litigation Associate to join its Los Angeles office. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level litigator looking to work on complex, high-stakes commercial disputes, including matters involving brand, business, and reputational risk, within a well-resourced and highly regarded litigation platform.

The role


- This position is suited to an associate who already has solid litigation training and is ready for broader responsibility in a premium disputes practice. The work will include:
- Managing written and document discovery
- Conducting legal research and drafting memoranda, pleadings, and motions
- Handling dispositive and non-dispositive motion practice
- Taking and defending depositions
- Assisting with witness preparation
- Supporting trial preparation, case strategy, and broader dispute management
- Working closely with partners and clients on significant commercial matters






What they are looking for


- 4–5 years of litigation experience
- Strong background in commercial litigation
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and case-management skills
- Confidence working both independently and collaboratively
- California Bar admission required
- Strong academic background
- Plaintiff-side or defense-side experience both of interest, provided the litigation background is strong






Salary & hours


- Salary: $285,000–$325,000
- Annual target: 1,950 hours
- 1,800 hours treated as core billable target
- Up to 150 hours can be credited through pro bono, firm activity, and other approved contributions
