Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a Lead Radiation Therapist who will play a key role in assisting with dosimetric calculations, treatment planning, quality assurance, and data management within our system. You will deliver radiation therapy in accordance with the directives issued by the Radiation Oncologist and provide vital support in the department’s daily operations. This position involves mentoring staff and enhancing their technical competencies in a supportive environment.
Job Requirements:
• Education and Work Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Oncology or a related field: Preferred
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Three years' experience in radiation therapy: Preferred
• Licenses/Certifications:
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy (AART-T): Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Preferred
• ARRT-Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T): Required
• Therapeutic Radiologic Technology Certification (TRT): Required
Essential Functions:
• Administer prescribed radiation therapy by verifying prescriptions and patient identification. Clearly communicate procedures to patients and ensure their comfort throughout treatment.
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment according to specifications, attending to patient needs during their transfer.
• Monitor patients closely for any unusual reactions, promptly reporting any changes to supervisors and the physician.
• Maintain comprehensive records, ensuring accuracy in daily treatment logs and patient charts.
• Provide clinical supervision and evaluate the performance of students during practical procedures.
• Carry out other job-related duties as assigned, contributing to a collaborative work environment.
