Job Description
A well-established California plaintiff-side employment law firm is now expanding and looking to build their presence in the San Diego market. The firm has a strong reputation for handling complex employment matters, including single-plaintiff litigation, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour disputes. This is a great opportunity to be a key hire and leader for a new team being built in sunny San Diego.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of employment matters, including both pre-litigation and active litigation cases
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and trial briefs
- Take and defend depositions
- Appear in court to argue motions and advocate on behalf of clients
- Communicate directly with clients and contribute to overall case strategy
- Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations
- Develop and execute litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
Qualifications
- Active membership and good standing with the California State Bar
- Minimum of 3 years of plaintiff-side employment litigation experience
- Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to independently manage cases from inception through resolution
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to advocating for employees
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary of $200,000–$300,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, education, market factors, and other qualifications
- Performance-based commissions and KPI bonuses
