Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Supervisor



Location: Denver Metro Area, CO



Position Summary



We are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Supervisor to lead and oversee safety programs across commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring OSHA compliance, implementing safety policies, conducting training, maintaining documentation, and promoting a strong safety culture on active job sites.



Key Responsibilities





- Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety training for employees and subcontractors.
- Perform Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), pre-task planning, site inspections, and safety audits.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA, company, and project-specific safety requirements.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries, complete root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records, OSHA documentation, training logs, incident reports, and drug testing records.
- Serve as the OSHA Competent Person with authority to stop unsafe work.
- Coordinate injury management, return-to-work processes, and emergency response activities.
- Review subcontractor safety plans and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Participate in construction and safety meetings and prepare safety reports and project statistics.





Required Qualifications





- CSP with 4+ years of construction safety experience.
- ASP, GSP, or SMS with 6+ years of construction safety experience.
- CHST or OHST with 8+ years of construction safety experience.





Required Certifications





- Current OSHA 500 (Construction) completed within the past 24 months.
- Current CPR, First Aid & AED Certification.
- FMCSA-compliant Reasonable Suspicion Drug & Alcohol Supervisor Training.





Preferred Experience





- Commercial construction safety experience.
- Medical, Higher Education, K-12, or large commercial projects.
- CMAR and Design-Build project experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.





Skills





- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and project documentation software.
- Excellent organizational and recordkeeping abilities.





Work Environment & Physical Requirements





- Active commercial construction sites with exposure to weather, noise, heights, machinery, dust, and other job site hazards.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting up to 100 lbs.
- Must be willing to travel throughout the Denver Metro area.
