Job Description
Join our dynamic Oncology Department at MidState Medical Center as a dedicated Registered Nurse. Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough patient assessments and create personalized oncology care plans.
• Safely administer chemotherapy and related treatments following established protocols.
• Monitor patient responses to treatment and address any adverse reactions accordingly.
• Provide education to patients and families on their diagnosis, treatment options, and effective symptom management.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices.
• Support patient advocacy, comfort measures, and end-of-life care when necessary.
• Serve as a mentor to new staff and foster ongoing professional development.
Required Skills:
• Experience in oncology nursing care.
• Knowledge of chemotherapy administration.
• Expertise in patient assessment and triage.
• Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation.
• Competence in IV therapy and venipuncture.
• Ability in symptom and pain management.
• Familiarity with infection control practices.
• Skills in patient and family education.
• Experience in care coordination and discharge planning.
• Knowledge of central line care and management.
