Civil Litigation Associate (1 to 6 Years) - New York City Law Firms Hiring Now





About the Opportunity

We are partnering with well-regarded litigation firms across Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island and Westchester, plus a number in northern New Jersey, that are actively adding associates to their trial and litigation teams. These are established small and mid-size practices, plus a number of larger firms, that give their associates real matters, direct client contact and a genuine path to senior associate and partner.





We are looking for civil litigation associates with 1 to 6 years of post-bar experience. Senior associates with more experience are also welcome to apply. Roles are firm-based in New York City, on-site or hybrid near the office.

- Real Estate, Landlord-Tenant and Creditor Rights Litigation






What You Would Be Doing

(varies by level and practice area)

What You Would Be Doing


- Managing your own caseload from intake through resolution, typically 20 to 40 active matters
- Drafting pleadings, discovery and motion practice, including oppositions and dispositive motions
- Taking and defending depositions and preparing witnesses
- Negotiating and drafting settlement agreements and resolving matters with opposing counsel
- Appearing in New York Supreme Court and, where applicable, the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York
- Supporting arbitrations, mediations and trials, with first-chair work as you progress






What We Are Looking For


- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) and active admission to the State Bar of New York in good standing
- 1 to 6 years of post-bar civil litigation experience at a law firm (more senior candidates welcome)
- Currently practicing, or within the last 12 months, at a law firm
- Based in the New York City area or able to commute to the firm's office, on-site or hybrid
- US citizen or work-authorized (these roles do not offer visa sponsorship)
- Strong drafting and oral advocacy skills, and a detail-oriented, client-focused approach






Typical Salary Ranges - Los Angeles

These reflect typical New York law-firm compensation. Larger firms sit at the top of each band or above it. Base salary shown; many firms add a performance bonus.


- 2 to 3 years' experience: $135,000 to $205,000
- 4 to 9 years' experience: $155,000 to $240,000
