Company Description Women Just Like Me Foundation is a community-based organization that provides supportive services and resources to at-risk girls, teen parents, and families in disadvantaged communities. The foundation focuses on reducing teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections through education on reproductive and sexual health and risk awareness. Programs include parenting education, financial literacy and money management workshops, and counseling and mentoring services for girls and women. Based in Columbus, Ohio, and founded by S.Danielle Dallis, the organization is driven by lived experience and a commitment to helping young people overcome challenging circumstances and build a positive future.





Role Description The Vice Chair of the Board of Directors is a contract, on-site role based in Columbus, OH. This position supports and collaborates closely with the Board Chair in providing strategic leadership, governance oversight, and mission alignment for Women Just Like Me Foundation. Day-to-day responsibilities include participating in board and committee meetings, helping set agendas, reviewing organizational policies and programs, and ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards. The Vice Chair will work with the Executive Director and other leaders on strategic planning, fundraising initiatives, community partnerships, and program evaluation. The role also involves stepping in for the Board Chair when needed, mentoring other board members, and promoting a culture of accountability, inclusion, and transparency.





Two Year Role Committment Required

Appointment to the Vice Chair position requires a two-year commitment to Board service. This commitment is a requirement of accepting the position and is not optional.

Candidates should carefully consider their professional, personal, and community obligations before applying and should have a reasonable expectation that they can fulfill the responsibilities of the position throughout the full two-year term.





Qualifications


- Demonstrated leadership and governance experience, ideally serving on nonprofit boards or in senior community leadership roles.
- Strong strategic planning, decision-making, and organizational skills, with the ability to guide long-term initiatives and support effective oversight.
- Background in community outreach, youth development, social services, public health, or related fields working with at-risk populations.
- Experience with fundraising, donor relations, and cultivating partnerships with organizations, businesses, and community stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse groups.
- Commitment to the mission of empowering girls, teen parents, and families, and to gender-neutral, non-discriminatory, and trauma-informed practices.
- Knowledge of basic finance, budgeting, and nonprofit compliance to support responsible stewardship and governance.
- Ability to be regularly present on-site in Columbus, OH and to dedicate consistent time to board meetings, committee work, and community events.
- Previous experience in mentoring, coaching, or guiding emerging leaders is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (such as social work, public administration, education, business, or a related field) or equivalent experience is preferred.
