Travel Radiation Therapist

American Traveler seeks a Radiation Therapist proficient with the Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator and 2+ years of experience for an outpatient cancer center setting.

Job Details

• Cancer center treatment setting serving adult acute care and outpatient populations,
• Monday through Friday day shift schedule with 4x10-hour shifts,
• Shift times may extend later into the evening depending on patient volumes,
• No on-call requirements,
• Uses Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator and ARIA treatment systems,
• Uses Epic for electronic medical records,
• Treats conditions including benign brain tumors, keloids, heterotopic bone, superior vena cava syndrome, and various cancers including Hodgkin's and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, kidney, pancreatic, and testicular cancer,
• Performs external beam therapy, IMRT, and stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS),
• Travelers expected to float unless otherwise specified,

Job Requirements

• ARRT (T) and BLS certifications required,
• License required if applicable,
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required,
• Proficiency with Varian TrueBeam Linear Accelerator required,
• Epic experience within the last 18 months required, including documented location of use,
• Must pass Epic competency exam on site with only one attempt allowed,
• Community hospital experience preferred,
• Two supervisory references required for consideration,
• Must be clean-shaven if fit testing is required,

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include beam modifying/positioning, CBCT/kV/mV imaging, and use of wedges,
• Perform chart checks, patient/family teaching, and care of patients in restraints,
• Follow isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation safety protocols,
• Use lift/transfer devices as needed for patient care,
• No block scheduling or special schedule requests accommodated,
• First-time travelers considered,
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate,
• All requested time off must be disclosed prior to consideration, as additional time off will not be approved afterward
