Thoracic Radiation Oncologist

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a full-time Thoracic Radiation Oncologist to join its nationally recognized program at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) in Nashville, TN. This clinician educator track position involves comprehensive treatment of thoracic malignancies and collaboration within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. The role offers protected time for developing investigator-initiated trials and engaging in clinical research within a growing department.

• Join a growing, nationally recognized program at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC)

• Work alongside an established thoracic radiation oncologist who serves as co-leader of the Thoracic Oncology Program at VICC

• Strong integration of radiation oncology within the disease management team

• Day-to-day practice supported by a dedicated nurse practitioner

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive treatment of thoracic malignancies, from Stage I to IV disease, using advanced techniques including SBRT/SABR, VMAT/IMRT, and online adaptive radiotherapy

• Collaboration with a dynamic, world-class multidisciplinary team of interventional pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, and medical oncologists

• Active participation in the Vanderbilt Lung Cancer learning lab, a quality improvement (QI) initiative

• Care of Veterans Affairs (VA) patients as part of the clinical assignment

• Protected effort to develop investigator-initiated trials and to open and enroll patients on clinical trials

Requirements

• MD or MD/PhD

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Radiation Oncology

• Eligible for Tennessee licensure
