Clinician Educator - Thoracic Radiation Oncology (m/w/d)

The Department of Radiation Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) seeks a full-time faculty member on the clinician educator track with a focus on thoracic radiation oncology to join a growing, nationally recognized program at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC). The successful candidate will work alongside an established thoracic radiation oncologist who serves as co-leader of the Thoracic Oncology Program at VICC, which reflects the strong integration of radiation oncology within the disease management team, and who has a strong track record of opening both industry-sponsored and NIH-funded investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and mentoring junior faculty.

Position Highlights:
Comprehensive treatment of thoracic malignancies, from Stage I to IV disease, using advanced techniques including SBRT/SABR, VMAT/IMRT, and online adaptive radiotherapy.
Collaboration with a dynamic, world-class multidisciplinary team of interventional pulmonologists, thoracic surgeons, and medical oncologists.
Active participation in the Vanderbilt Lung Cancer learning lab, a quality improvement (QI) initiative designed to analyze clinical care pipelines and patient outcomes and provide rapid and systematic feedback for improvement.
Care of Veterans Affairs (VA) patients as part of the clinical assignment.
Day-to-day practice supported by a dedicated nurse practitioner.
Protected effort to develop investigator-initiated trials and to open and enroll patients on clinical trials.
Access to world class core facilities, databases, and mentorship programs.

Qualifications: MD/DO and completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program, along with board certification or eligibility in Radiation Oncology, and eligible for TN licensure. Demonstrated interest in clinical and/or translational research and a desire to build an independent investigative portfolio.
