As a Therapeutic Radiation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in administering ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes, working closely with our Radiation Oncologists. You'll be responsible for preparing patients for radiation therapy and providing essential patient education and care. Position Details:
Shift: Full-time (40 hours)
Location: Lutheran Medical Center Radiation Oncology, Golden, Colorado

Key Responsibilities:
• Implement and interpret treatment plans as prescribed. Record all simulation and treatment summaries accurately.
• Perform simulation procedures, prepare immobilization devices, and gather necessary measurements for dosimetry.
• Conduct daily quality assurance procedures for treatment machines and ensure equipment is ready for use.
• Assist in mentoring and evaluating student therapists, if applicable.
• Provide attentive patient care during treatment, monitor patient progress, and educate patients on their treatment.
• Accurately document billing information for all related procedures and ensure timely patient scheduling.
Required Skills:
• Expertise in clinical processes and patient care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Solid understanding of oncology practices.
• Effective decision-making, problem-solving, and empathetic patient interactions.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Radiology Tech License in the state of practice, if applicable.
• Certification in Radiation Therapy from the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited institution.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to see and read information accurately, and operate complex equipment.
• Frequent verbal communication with patients and team members, particularly in urgent situations.
• Manual dexterity to handle delicate equipment and conduct frequent computer use.
• Capability to lift patients and move equipment, including heavy items.
• Mobility to assist with patient transport and navigate busy clinical environments.
• Standing for extended periods may be required.
Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $47.38 to $73.11, based on experience.
