Staff Pharmacist, Long Term Care

Role Description The Staff Pharmacist, Long Term Care role at MAC Rx of Missouri is a part-time, on-site position based in Maryland Heights, MO. The Staff Pharmacist will provide clinical review and verification of medication orders, ensure accurate dispensing, and oversee pharmacy technicians in daily workflow. Responsibilities include checking prescriptions for appropriateness, interactions, and allergies; counseling facility staff on medication-related questions; and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations. The role also involves participation in quality assurance activities, documentation of interventions, and communication with prescribers and long term care facilities to support safe and effective resident care.

Qualifications
• Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in the state of Missouri; Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree preferred
• Experience in long term care, institutional, or geriatric pharmacy practice, including familiarity with medication regimens common in skilled nursing and assisted living settings
• Knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations, long term care requirements, and best practices for controlled substance handling and documentation
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to perform accurate medication review, verification, and order entry
• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with facility staff, prescribers, pharmacy technicians, and internal team members
• Comfort with pharmacy technology systems, electronic health records, and automated dispensing processes
• Ability to work on-site in Maryland Heights, MO, manage part-time schedules, and support workflow in a fast-paced, resident-focused environment
