As a Special Procedures Oncology Triage Nurse, under the direction of the department chief, nurse leader, or designee, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a complex oncology patient population. Your role will include essential duties such as:
• Establishing therapeutic relationships with patients and families while providing care transitions and education
• Conducting telephone triage and clinical advice along with coordinating follow-up care for patients
• Delivering patient education for pre- and post-infusion care, maintaining accurate documentation and confidentiality
• Coordinating treatments with our hospital partners
• Assisting patients and families in navigating services such as primary care, specialty care visits, skilled home care, palliative care, and hospice
• Facilitating communication between the hospital-based care team and practice-based care team
• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and mentoring nursing staff to uphold high patient service standards
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards, credentialing, and necessary certifications (BCLS and specialty certifications)

Position Details:
• Location: 133 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA
• Department: Oncology
• Schedule: 30 hours weekly, days to be determined

Required Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completed an accredited Registered Nurse education program
• Active and unrestricted RN licensure in the state of MA
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience in oncology or infusion nursing
• Solid understanding of chemotherapy and infusion protocols

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• 5+ years of relevant experience in an Oncology setting
• Experience with electronic medical records systems, specifically EPIC

Compensation for this role is based on various factors, including local labor markets, education, and experience. The hourly pay ranges from $43.63 - $81.04 per hour based on full-time employment.
