One of the top pharmaceutical companies in the industry is looking to hire a Senior Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs Strategy to help drive contributions to the scientific, commercialization, and lifecycle management strategies that will also include building and leading a team committed to creation and execution of strategic initiatives, insights gathering, engagement of key opinion leaders, advisory boards and evidence generation. You will also collaborate with colleagues throughout the organization as well as the external investigator and other key external stakeholders.

Daily Responsibilities include the following:
• In this role you will lead Medical Affairs activities and initiatives pertaining to the pipeline with a focus of developing and leading a strong Medical Affairs presence within the group.
• Build , mentor and lead a team of talented professionals for presence in new therapeutic areas, providing leadership, supervision, mentoring, and career development.
• Collaborate with Clinical Development, Global Strategic Marketing, Global Value and Access, Medical Affairs Research, affiliate Medical Affairs teams, and other cross-functional teams across varied initiatives including strategic plan development and implementation, evidence generation, scientific resource development, conference activities, and internal training.
• Build organizational capabilities in medical strategy, evidence generation, stakeholder engagement, and launch readiness for inflammation assets.
• Responsible for medical affairs evaluation and input into clinical planning and contribution to clinical trials across the asset lifecycle , Phase I/II through Phase III, and communication of research needs to Clinical Development team, to ensure clinical programs meet the needs of patients, prescribers, and payers in both global and US markets.
• Leads Medical Affairs commitment to execution of research studies, supporting site evaluation and investigator engagement where needed.
• As a therapeutic area expert, serve as the Global Medical Affairs representative on strategic cross-functional working groups, across the company. Ensure alignment of team activities across the portfolio and wider organization.
• Support cross-functional data generation efforts, including serving as core member of data generation strategy and execution teams.
• Attend major global scientific conferences and lead strategic planning and execution of key conference deliverables/activities.
• Serve as MA lead on select scientific issues/topics using expertise to develop global scientific messages, inform strategy and drive strategic resource development.
• Provide training within the inflammation therapeutic area on relevant topics for Medical Affairs and cross-functional personnel.
• Drives MA pre-launch planning for assets in development, including organization and medical affairs strategy.
• Provides medical due diligence to support business development and partnering evaluations

Requirements:
• Advanced scientific degree (MD) required, with at least 11+ years of relevant industry/clinical experience required, must have experience in one of the following therapeutic area’s, inflammation (inflammatory bowel disease) , rheumatology, immunology, or dermatology.
• At least 4 years Pharma/Biotech industry experience, must have prior launch experience.
• Previous experience managing teams, direct reports.
• Experience developing productive, credible collaborations with cross-functional partners.
• Ability to synthesize findings and clearly articulate implications from multiple sources of information, and to formulate strong, actionable recommendations.

Position pays an excellent base salary plus bonus and stock.Full relocation available if needed, must be onsite 3 days, no exceptions.
