About Us:

Resero Bio is an emerging precision diagnostics company pioneering the next generation of liquid biopsies by unlocking the cell-free transcriptome. Our patented RARE-seq technology enables ultra-sensitive detection and characterization of cancer from blood and urine, offering a non-invasive window into dynamic cancer biology. Founded in 2025 and backed by top-tier investors, we are bringing this technology into clinical practice.

Role Overview:

The Scientist designs and executes experiments to advance assay performance, owning technical questions from experimental design through data interpretation and recommendation. The position also includes routine execution of the production sample workflow when required to meet throughput demands.

Key Responsibilities:

Assay Development
• Design and execute experiments to optimize the Resero Bio cell-free RNA workflow
• Evaluate new reagents, kits, and instrumentation, and make data-supported recommendations
• Collaborate with the bioinformatics team to define and interpret QC metrics, troubleshoot sequencing results, and support panel content decisions
• Analyze and summarize sequencing and QC data independently, and present defensible interpretations
• Present results internally and contribute to grant applications, technical reports, and manuscripts

Sample Processing
• Execute the core laboratory workflow alongside the team as throughput requires, including extraction, library preparation, hybrid capture, and QC
• Analyze and summarize data for partner cohorts
• Maintain complete laboratory records in our LIMS system

Qualifications:
• PhD in molecular biology, genomics, bioengineering, cancer biology, or a related field; recent graduates are encouraged to apply, and postdoctoral experience is welcome but not required
• Extensive hands-on experience with molecular biology and NGS methods, including library preparation; this position requires substantial ongoing bench work
• Demonstrated ability to design controlled experiments and draw conclusions from complex or incomplete data
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization in R, Python, or an equivalent environment, and proficiency in Excel for routine data handling
• Strong written and verbal scientific communication
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills and attention to detail
• Ability to closely follow laboratory SOPs and appropriate laboratory safety protocols
• Ability to work effectively in an early-stage environment with shifting priorities

Nice to Have:
• Experience analyzing NGS data
• Experience working with RNA, especially including qRT-PCR and RNA-seq
• Experience with method development or assay optimization
• Strong record of independent project execution (e.g. publications)

What We Offer:
• Competitive salary commensurate with experience
• Meaningful equity in an early-stage, venture-backed company
• Health, dental, and vision coverage
• Paid time off and company holidays
• A ground-floor role with direct impact on bringing cfRNA liquid biopsy into clinical diagnostics
