Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY
Sign On Bonus $7,500
Full-Time Benefit Eligible
Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday
Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans. Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services. Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing. BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 6 North Unit is a 36 bed Oncology unit specializing in GI, Surgical, Women’s Health, Same Day Surgery, and Chemo Administration. Based on the acuity and complexity of the care we provide, we are able to form closeknit relationships with our patients throughout their cancer journey. Our Registered Nurses have a typical patient ratio of 1:4, and will work with a daily team of Registered Nurses, Nursing Interns and Patient Care Techs. We welcome Registered Nurses of all education and experience levels, promote a team-oriented environment, and encourage our nurses to become experts in their field through continuous learning.
