Job Description
Role Overview: The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) provides patient-centered care within the outpatient surgical team, focusing on adult patients in the Breast and Melanoma Surgery practice.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct patient assessments, deliver preoperative and postoperative education, coordinate multidisciplinary care, and manage non-face-to-face patient interactions via phone, portal, and electronic records. The RN ensures seamless transitions of care, collaborates with various specialties, and supports professional nursing practices, including leadership and quality improvement activities.
Qualifications & Skills: Requires a nursing degree from an accredited program, with at least one year of RN experience, preferably in surgical or outpatient settings. Must hold current RN licensure, BLS certification, and demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and independence. Experience with electronic health records and collaborative care is essential.
Additional Details: The role involves mentoring, participation in committees, and potentially driving a personal vehicle. It is open to new graduates via the Nurse Residency Program and is eligible for TN sponsorship, requiring licensure and certification compliance.
