Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care Oncology Days

Position Summary: The RN Clinical Nurse provides high-quality, safe, and patient-centered care within an interdisciplinary team on an Oncology Medsurg Unit. They perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using evidence-based practice and critical thinking to deliver individualized care. The role emphasizes relationship-based care, cultural competence, and partnering with patients and families to meet their goals.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care, promoting teamwork and collaboration through effective communication and respectful environment.
Participate in performance improvement, research, and shared governance activities to enhance care outcomes.
Support professional development by completing required competencies, mentoring, and serving as preceptor.
Advance evidence-based practice, contribute to protocol development, and ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum, optimizing resource use and supporting system initiatives to improve safety and reduce readmissions.

Qualifications & Skills

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Nursing degree (Bachelor’s preferred).
Current RN license (single-state or multi-state compact) and BLS certification required.
Less than 1 year of clinical experience preferred, with completion of accredited nursing program.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, teamwork, and commitment to evidence-based practice.
