Registered Nurse - Oncology Care Coordination

Role Overview

This position involves practicing professional nursing by performing both independent and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted standards. Responsibilities include providing health promotion, supportive and restorative care, disease prevention, and treatment of various conditions using specialized knowledge and judgment. The nurse focuses on patient needs, builds rapport, and actively seeks to understand patient circumstances to deliver personalized care.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and emergency policies, demonstrating effectiveness in clinical interactions.
Maintain patient safety during medication administration, procedures, infection control, and fall prevention.
Evaluate health status through data collection, analysis, and problem identification to develop care plans.
Triages patients in person or via phone, implementing appropriate interventions and follow-up.
Assess emergency situations and initiate suitable nursing actions.
Provide health education and counseling to patients and families.
Execute delegated medical functions, such as administering medications and IV therapies, under legal and professional guidelines.
Coordinate and integrate care across services, managing patient populations to optimize resource use.
Act as a patient advocate, supporting patient needs and preferences.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum of one year of RN experience, including oncology within the last five years.
Graduate of an approved RN program with clinical experience under supervision.
Valid RN license, BLS certification within three months, and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy certification.
Strong customer service, critical thinking, IV skills, and effective communication in team settings.

Willingness to travel between clinics in the Denver/Boulder area.
