Registered Nurse - Med Surg Oncology

Novant Health seeks a compassionate Registered Nurse for our Med Surg Oncology unit. In this role, you'll deliver evidence-based oncology and medical-surgical care, including assessments, medication administration, symptom management, and care coordination for complex patients. You'll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, support patients and families through treatment decisions, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessments and ongoing monitoring for med-surg oncology patients
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and oncology treatments per protocol and safety standards
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, symptom management, and discharge plans
• Advocate for patient safety, comfort, and quality of care at all times
• Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Follow infection prevention, regulatory, and hospital policies and procedures
• Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
• Support a culture of diversity, inclusion, and teamwork on the unit
