Role Overview
The Nurse Manager is a registered nurse responsible for leading and managing a specific unit or service, ensuring clinical excellence, safety, and quality standards are met. They promote staff recruitment, retention, and professional development while overseeing resources, finances, and operations. Acting as a chief safety and retention officer, they utilize data and technology to mitigate risks and create a safe, collaborative work environment. They foster effective communication with physicians, staff, and patients, supporting a culture of service excellence and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
• Engage staff through shared governance and promote relationship-based, patient-centered care.
• Manage human, material, and financial resources efficiently, using quality improvement strategies.
• Build strong partnerships across departments, resolve conflicts, and support professional growth.
• Uphold nursing standards, ethics, and compliance, serving as a role model and leader.
• Promote evidence-based practice, research, and performance improvement.
• Ensure safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards are maintained.
• Participate in community and organizational activities to advance skills and reputation.
Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing; Master’s preferred.
• Current RN licensure (single-state or compact)
• BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of progressive nursing management experience
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
All certifications are required upon hire, and the candidate must be licensed in Georgia or hold privileges under the eNLC.
