Responsibilities

This position involves caring for patients primarily with hematologic disorders and cancers, including leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. The care setting offers both inpatient and outpatient nursing, allowing for comprehensive support during diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and end-of-life care. You will administer advanced care techniques in a fast-paced environment with a focus on patient-centered practice.

Unit Features
We have 25 private rooms, including 4 for radioactive isolation, well-equipped with safety technology for both patients and staff. The outpatient unit further supports our patients, showcasing our commitment to holistic care across various stages of treatment.

Nursing Role
In this role, you will engage in patient care services involving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, central line care, and more. Emotional support and patient education are vital aspects of nursing in our unit, which participates in innovative cancer research programs.

For New Graduate Nurses
New graduate RNs should apply through the Nurse Residency Program. This program is designed to facilitate a successful transition into the nursing workforce, providing tailored opportunities that will align with your career goals.

The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care by delivering direct patient care, educating patients and families, and planning transitions of care. Operating within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, RNs are responsible for all nursing phases which encompass effective communication and collaboration.

Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA). One year of RN experience is required. All associate degree RNs starting after April 1, 2020, must complete a baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years of their RN start date.

Additional Skills:
Strong communication skills, teamwork experience, computer proficiency, and the ability to adapt to dynamic situations are essential. Demonstrated leadership capabilities and critical thinking proficiency will contribute greatly to your success in our team.

License and Certification Requirements:
A current RN license is mandatory, along with a valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from recognized institutions. Additional state licensure and specialty certifications may be required based on the work area.

This role is eligible for TN sponsorship, contingent upon obtaining state licensure and VisaScreen certification.

Exemption Status: Nonexempt
Compensation Range: $43.84 - $66.84, reflecting our innovative nursing compensation model based on experience and education.

Schedule: Part-Time
Details: Shifts start at 7 am or 11 am for 12-hour shifts. Weekend shifts included.
