Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Acute Oncology team. As a vital member of our healthcare community, you will independently provide essential and complex patient care while demonstrating a thorough understanding of diverse clinical situations. Your role will involve both routine and intricate procedures, utilizing your expertise to set long-term care goals and effectively manage clinical challenges.
Responsibilities:
• Exhibit proficiency in OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Deliver nursing care consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards, engaging in assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for your assigned patients.
• Address intricate psychological, emotional, cultural, and social aspects of care for patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and overall treatment effectiveness.
• Thoroughly document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Evaluate learning needs and educate patients, their families, and caregivers on relevant issues and resources.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
Experience:
• A minimum of 1 year in a relevant nursing specialty is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• BLS certification is required.
• RN License in the state of employment or compact license is mandatory.
Position Requirements:
Education/Skills:
• Newly hired experienced RNs must complete New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• All new hires will be precepted by a trained staff member; competency validation will be documented through established organizational protocols.
Experience:
• One year of experience in a nursing specialty area is preferred.
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:
• Current PALS certification is required.
Credential Grace Periods:
Additional credentials may be required; grace periods for certification acquisition will be based on your experience level:
• Candidates with at least one year of acute care experience within the past three years will be considered as Experienced Associates.
• Those without this experience will be identified as Experienced Associates New to the Specialty.
