Radiation Therapist

Role Overview: The Staff Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation in the Radiation Oncology Department, delivering precise therapy per physician prescriptions. They operate radiation equipment safely, perform complex technical procedures, and participate in quality control efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and care for patients of all ages, documenting procedures accurately in the EMR.
Educate patients and families on treatment side effects and safety measures.
Ensure proper patient setup, simulation, and treatment delivery without errors.
Follow safety protocols, wear radiation badges, and manage patient mobility and fall precautions.
Participate in warm-up procedures, report discrepancies, and perform additional assigned tasks.
Contribute as a clinical instructor for students and engage in on-call rotations.

Qualifications & Skills

Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited program.
Certification: ARRT-T Radiation Therapy and BLS required upon hire.
Minimum of 2 years of radiation therapy experience preferred.
Ability to simulate and treat patients accurately and safely.
