Radiation & Oncology Therapist

This position involves performing a variety of technical procedures in the application and delivery of radiation therapy as prescribed by a physician.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Interpreting and accurately delivering radiation treatment courses
• Correctly positioning patients using immobilization devices
• Utilizing beam modifying devices such as wedges, bolus, and lead blocks
• Calculating and administering prescribed treatment doses
• Assisting in treatment plan evaluation and adjustments to prevent interruptions
• Documenting setup details like tattoos, photos, and dose calculations
• Amending charting errors per departmental protocols
• Performing routine quality assurance checks on equipment
• Recognizing and reporting irregular patient symptoms
• Performing related essential duties as required

Qualifications Include

• Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy program
• Valid New York State Radiation Therapy licensure
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) in radiation therapy
• 1-3 years of relevant experience

Shift and Compensation: Per diem coverage across various sites between 7am-7pm, with compensation considerations based on experience, credentials, and location.
