Location: Shreveport, Louisiana
Position Summary: As a Radiation Oncologist, you will play a vital role in diagnosing cancer patients and crafting personalized treatment plans involving radiation therapy. You will closely collaborate with a diverse team of medical professionals, including medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, and oncology nurses, working towards achieving exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate cancer patients and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Administer and oversee radiation therapy treatments.
• Collaborate with other oncology specialists to design comprehensive care strategies.
• Engage in tumor boards and participate in case discussions.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in radiation delivery.
• Educate patients and their families about treatment procedures and expected results.
• Contribute to clinical research or continuous improvement initiatives, as applicable.
Qualifications:
• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Board certification (or eligibility) in Radiation Oncology.
• Valid medical license to practice in Louisiana.
• Strong clinical skills in radiation therapy planning and execution.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Commitment to patient-centered care and collaborative teamwork.
Preferred Experience:
• Proficiency in advanced radiation therapy techniques (e.g., IMRT, SBRT, SRS, IGRT).
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Experience in research, publications, or educational roles.
