Schedule: On-Site Monday–Friday Rotating 11–12 Hour Shifts Up to 80 Hours per 2-Week Pay Period





A2Z-IS is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide inpatient and/or outpatient medical services in support of the Department of Medicine at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC).

Responsibilities

- Provide primary and specialty medical care to inpatient and outpatient populations
- Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and counsel patients with routine, acute, and chronic medical conditions
- Manage or co-manage patients with multiple comorbidities
- Prescribe medications and immunizations within approved protocols and clinical privileges
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within approved scope of practice
- Provide care on general medicine wards and specialty units
- Coordinate pre-operative, post-operative, discharge, follow-up, and triage activities
- Recognize emergency or complex conditions and make appropriate referrals
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment, preventive care, and wellness
- Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement activities


Minimum Qualifications

- U.S. Citizenship required
- Minimum 1 year of applicable PA or NP experience within the past 2 years
- At least 6 months of inpatient experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Current, valid, unrestricted professional license
- Must meet Government credentialing, privileging, occupational health, security, and installation access requirements


Physician Assistant Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
- Current NCCPA certification
- Current, valid, unrestricted PA license


Nurse Practitioner Requirements

- Master’s degree in Nursing
- Graduate of an appropriately accredited nursing program
- Current NP certification through ANCC, AANP, or another recognized national certification organization
- Current, valid, unrestricted NP license


Schedule
Providers will rotate 11- to 12-hour shifts during the Monday through Sunday coverage window. Scheduled duty will
not exceed 80 hours in a two-week pay period. No on-call requirement.

Additional Requirements

- Successfully complete Government credentialing and clinical privileging
- Meet DHA/BAMC occupational health, physical examination, immunization, and TB screening requirements
- Complete all required DHA and MTF training
- Meet Government security and installation access requirements
- Obtain and maintain the required Tier 1 investigation
- Maintain all required professional licenses and certifications throughout employment
