Physician Assistant - Hematology/Oncology

St. Cloud VA Health Care System is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant - Hematology/Oncology to provide care to Veterans across its Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) locations in Brainerd, Alexandria, and Montevideo, Minnesota. This role is based out of Alexandria, MN, and involves significant travel between clinics. The successful candidate will contribute to a Whole Health System of care, focusing on personalized health plans and improving the well-being of Veterans.

Practice Info

• Position is within the Primary and Specialty Medicine Service Line.

• Serves Veterans at Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) locations: Brainerd, Alexandria, and Montevideo.

• Based out of the Alexandria, MN location.

• Requires at least 75% travel between all clinics.

• Focuses on a predominately male patient population.

• Operates within a Whole Health System of care model.

Responsibilities

• Assesses and documents medical history, diagnosis, and plan of care.

• Initiates, orders, and evaluates plans of care for a panel of outpatient clients.

• Provides follow-up exams for medication management and monitoring.

• Provides patient/family education regarding disease process, risk factors, symptom control, and treatment (including use of medication).

• Consults with other providers and multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Must be proficient in basic written and spoken English.

• Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

• Must pass pre-employment physical examination.

• Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement.

• Master's degree in any discipline or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant.

• Successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (or are in the process of taking the exam).

• Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.

• Preferred Experience: Hematology/Oncology Experience.

• Must possess a valid state driver's license for this position.
