Job Description
Boston Children's Hospital seeks a Registered Nurse for our Hematology/Oncology Unit. In this pediatric specialty setting, you will deliver evidence-based care to children with complex hematologic and oncologic conditions, including chemotherapy administration, symptom management, transfusion support, and central line care. You will educate and support families, coordinate interdisciplinary plans of care, and contribute to quality and safety initiatives in a highly collaborative, mission-driven environment that values innovation, learning, and diverse perspectives.
Responsibilities
• Provide evidence-based nursing care to pediatric hematology/oncology patients
• Administer chemotherapy, transfusions, and other specialized therapies
• Manage central lines and perform complex clinical assessments
• Monitor patient status and respond rapidly to changes in condition
• Educate and support patients and families on treatments and home care
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team on care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and education initiatives
• Precept or mentor staff and contribute to a collaborative team culture
