Job Description
West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine seeks a Palliative Care Physician at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor to practice in Morgantown, WV. The successful candidate will provide exceptional patient care in palliative medicine and actively engage in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Depending on operational needs, the provider may also be assigned to deliver services at additional worksites across West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
Practice Info
• Inpatient and outpatient services provided, including local nursing homes
• Team provides patient and family centered care that offers quality of life for patients with life limiting illnesses by anticipating, preventing, and treating suffering
• Practice in Morgantown, WV, with potential travel to additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania based on operational needs
Responsibilities
• Practice in the areas of Palliative Care medicine
• Provide excellent patient care
• Actively participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows
• Travel to fulfill duties at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania depending on operational needs
Shift & Schedule
• 40 scheduled weekly hours
• Exempt
Requirements
• MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent
• Eligible for state medical license
• Completed residency in internal medicine or family medicine by the time of appointment
• Completed fellowship in palliative care by the time of appointment
• Board certified / eligible in Palliative Medicine
• Open to visa sponsorship
