Oncology Pharmacist in Goleta, CA

An Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist position is available in Santa Barbara, CA, offering an opportunity to work across inpatient and outpatient infusion settings. This role requires expertise in oncology pharmacy to oversee medication management, verify chemotherapy protocols, and collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive medication management, including ordering lab tests, selecting appropriate therapies, and managing adverse events related to chemotherapy.

• Verify chemotherapy orders and protocols for accuracy, dosage appropriateness, and patient safety.

• Educate patients and caregivers about treatment plans, manage chemotherapy side effects, and promote medication adherence.

• Collaborate with providers and nursing staff during clinical rounds to facilitate informed treatment decisions.

• Participate in clinical trials, manage investigational drugs, and contribute to the development of institutional oncology protocols and guidelines.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.

• Eligibility or ability to obtain a California pharmacist license.

• Postgraduate training such as PGY2 or fellowship in oncology, OR completion of PGY1 plus at least 3 years of clinical oncology specialization, OR 5 years of clinical oncology specialist experience.

• Board certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP) is preferred.

• Monday through Friday, day shifts.
