About the Role
MedStar Health is currently seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Medical Oncology department at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital, an integral part of the MedStar Georgetown Cancer Institute. This position is perfect for an Advanced Practice Provider who is passionate about providing patient-centered care, excels in a collaborative team environment, and is skilled at managing complex and sensitive discussions with patients and their families.
The role also includes responsibilities at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital, located just three miles away, for an integrated daily inpatient consult service.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inpatient consults for new cases of cancer or blood disorders.
• Evaluate and manage newly admitted patients within the hospital.
• Follow up with established inpatients to ensure consistent and comprehensive care.
• Serve as a liaison between inpatient and outpatient teams to guarantee smooth transitions and coordinated care.
• Proactively communicate with outpatient teams for follow-ups, enhancing patient continuity and experience.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5 days a week (8-hour shifts). This position does not require work on weekends, after-hours, or call duties.

Qualifications:
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program.
• Current CPR certification.
• Eligibility for Maryland and DC licensure.
• Oncology experience is preferred but not mandatory.
