Job Description
Shift Details: 32 Hours/week. Evening shift. Rotating Weekends/Holidays.

POSITION SUMMARY:
As an Oncology Nurse Aide, you will play a vital role in assisting patients with their daily needs and enhancing their comfort during treatment. Under the direction of an RN or LPN, you will support patient care activities, ensuring clear communication with patients, families, and your healthcare team. Your responsibilities will contribute to a safe, clean, and supportive environment for our patients.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a certified nursing assistant program is preferred but not mandatory.
• OR Active Certified Nurse Assistant certification upon hire.
• Required to complete all Nurse Aide competencies during the new employee orientation and maintain clinical proficiency throughout employment.
• Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support certification upon hire or during the initial orientation period.
COMPETENCIES:
• Proficient in reading and communicating effectively in English.
• Basic computer skills required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Deliver compassionate care addressing patients' physical and psychosocial needs within your scope of practice.
• Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge processes for patients.
• Effectively communicate changes in patient condition to the RN or LPN and notify licensed personnel of patient concerns.
• Collect and assist in documenting necessary patient data.
• Perform all patient care duties in a way that optimizes safety and fosters positive outcomes.
• Maintain flexibility, organization, and composure in stressful situations.
• Communicate clearly with the team leader, colleagues, and other healthcare team members.
• Support unit functionality by performing assigned duties efficiently.
• Safely transport patients to other departments as needed.
• Familiarize yourself with and perform basic nursing tasks such as telemetry application, EKGs, and other assigned tasks.
