In this pivotal role, you will manage nursing care for patients receiving chemotherapy, biologic therapies, and other medications. You will provide direct patient care, collaborate with healthcare providers, set clinical standards, and engage in educational initiatives. You will also serve as a liaison among patients, physicians, and various departments.

Position Highlights & Primary Responsibilities:
• Evaluate patient care needs and suggest effective solutions to problems and complaints.
• Assess learning needs of patients and families; develop and implement educational plans.
• Manage venous access devices and address any complications.
• Process prescription refills according to established protocols.
• Provide telephone triage and consultations for patients.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans.
• Draw labs for patient assessments prior to chemotherapy/biotherapy administration.
• Maintain knowledge of medications and their potential side effects.
• Emphasize teamwork within and across departments.
• Orient patients and families to chemotherapy and infusion processes.
• Provide psychosocial support and refer patients to other resources as needed.
• Utilize effective communication strategies with patients, families, healthcare providers, and colleagues.
• Document patient care and maintain effective written communication.
• Report any issues or concerns to the department supervisor as necessary.

Required Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN or BSN).
• Current licensure in Washington State.

Preferred Qualifications:
• ONS Biotherapy & Chemotherapy Provider Card and/or Oncology Nursing Certification; if not OCN upon hire, obtaining this certification will be expected when eligible.
• 1+ years of recent clinical experience in an oncology setting.
