Occupational Therapist School Setting in Vernon Rockville, CT

Embrace a rewarding role supporting elementary students in their academic journeys! We’re seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) or two Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) for a contract assignment extending through June 2027. This full-time opportunity consists of 22.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, and focuses on providing impactful direct service within specialized Autism program classrooms.

As a vital member of the student services team, you’ll collaborate with educators and families across three elementary buildings, working directly with approximately 50 students placed in five Autism program classrooms. Your expertise will be integral in helping students achieve greater independence and participate more fully in their school environment.

Qualifications

• Active OT or COTA license in the state

• Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting (Autism program experience preferred)

• Familiarity with IEP development and documentation

• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

• Passion for working with elementary-aged children in a multidisciplinary team setting

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct OT services to students within Autism program classrooms

• Assess student abilities and develop individualized interventions supporting fine motor, sensory, and daily living skills

• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and families to support student progress

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with school and state requirements

• Contribute expertise to IEP meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions
