Job Description
Support students’ growth and success as a full-time occupational therapist within a vibrant elementary school setting. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful daily impact by collaborating with educators and helping students reach their fullest potential. The assignment is based near East Palo Alto, CA, serving students in elementary grades for 37.5 hours per week, with a consistent schedule of 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Active Occupational Therapist license in California (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working with children in elementary educational environments is preferred
• Strong knowledge of school-based OT practices, assessments, and intervention strategies
• Effective communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
• Ability to manage a caseload and work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans to address students’ functional and academic needs
• Deliver OT services as part of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to integrate therapy goals into classroom activities and routines
• Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation according to school and state guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and consult with school personnel to support student inclusion and success
• Monitor student progress and adapt interventions as needed
