Job Description
Role Overview: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing nuclear imaging procedures, including administration of radiopharmaceuticals and therapeutic doses under physician supervision. They operate imaging equipment, ensure safety protocols, and deliver high-quality images to assist in diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform nuclear medicine studies on patients of all ages, adhering to safety standards and department policies.
• Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals and therapeutic doses.
• Operate cameras and related equipment, process data, and transmit results accurately.
• Maintain radiation safety practices, conduct quality assurance, and monitor patient conditions during procedures.
• Possibly perform PET-CT scans with appropriate training and understanding of related processes.
• Ensure patient education, confidentiality, and demonstrate teamwork and professionalism.
Qualifications & Skills
• Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program and certification by ARRT, CNMT, or NMTBC.
• At least one year of radiologic technologist experience, or recent graduate of a nuclear medicine program.
• Strong knowledge of radiographic principles, film processing, and radiation safety.
• Ability to adapt to technological advancements and work with diverse patient populations.
