Job Description
Role Overview: A full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for performing all nuclear imaging procedures, including radiopharmaceutical handling, calibration, quality control, and patient imaging. They assist nuclear physicians, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and maintain a clean, organized department.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform hot lab functions, including handling radiopharmaceuticals following regulations.
• Calibrate equipment and conduct QC procedures on gamma cameras.
• Identify patients accurately, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort.
• Obtain high-quality images using prescribed techniques.
• Validate test results before patient release and assist with special imaging procedures.
• Maintain department cleanliness and adhere to safety standards.
• Provide courteous assistance to patients, staff, and physicians.
• Complete assigned tasks promptly, support non-technical duties, and work overtime when needed.
Qualifications & Skills
• Graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• Current NJ State license, ARRT and/or NMTCB certification, and BLS certification.
• Preferred: PET experience and two years hospital technologist experience.
Skills Required: Strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, excellent communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to follow safety protocols and perform procedures accurately.
