This part-time position offers flexible shifts as you prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate advanced gamma cameras, and ensure the production of high-quality images for physician interpretation, all while maintaining adherence to strict radiation safety and infection control standards. Your role is crucial in providing holistic patient care, communicating clearly about procedures, monitoring patient well-being, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct nuclear medicine imaging procedures based on physician orders while upholding safety protocols.
• Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals adhering to stringent radiation safety practices.
• Effectively operate and troubleshoot gamma cameras and related imaging technologies.
• Verify patient identity and history, explaining procedures with empathy and clarity.
• Monitor patients throughout and after procedures, attending to any adverse reactions.
• Process and analyze imaging results, ensuring they meet diagnostic quality standards for physician evaluation.
• Maintain precise records, documentation, and quality control logs.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Uphold regulatory, infection control, and radiation safety standards consistently.
• Embark on continuous learning and contribute to Adventist Health’s faith-based mission.
Essential Skills:
• Expertise in nuclear medicine imaging procedures.
• Proficiency in the preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
• Strong understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles.
• Experience with gamma camera operation and imaging systems.
• Skilled in image processing and utilizing PACS.
• Ability to assess and monitor patient conditions effectively.
• Competence in IV placement and venipuncture.
• Knowledgeable in human anatomy and physiology.
• Familiarity with infection control practices.
• Proficient in electronic medical record documentation.
