Key Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for coordinating nursing care, which includes direct patient care, education for patients and families, and managing transitions of care. You will support professional nursing practice across various settings to meet the needs of patients and their families. Within the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, you will plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all nursing care phases for your assigned patients. Your leadership skills will be essential as you may serve in roles such as preceptor, participate in quality improvement efforts, and mentor others. It is expected that you will delegate patient care tasks in alignment with skills, experience, patient acuity, resource availability, and fiscal accountability. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively are critical in this role.
This position is eligible for TN sponsorship; successful sponsorship will require state licensure and the completion of the VisaScreen or equivalent certification.
Qualifications:
• Graduates from a nursing program (Associates or Bachelor’s degree).
• Entry-level associate degree RNs must provide proof of starting a baccalaureate nursing program within five years of their RN start date.
• Preferred: One year of RN experience in a relevant care setting or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, team collaboration experience, and proficiency with computer systems are necessary. Flexibility in working hours is required, including days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends, as well as on-call shifts. The ability to navigate unpredictable situations in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate leadership and critical thinking skills is essential.
Licensure or Certification:
• Current RN license based on applicable state requirements.
• Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross (not required for positions off campus as defined by work area).
• Additional licensure or specialty certifications may be necessary as per work area requirements.
Job Details:
• Exemption Status: Nonexempt
• Minimum Hourly Rate: $36.78 with a competitive compensation model that rewards experience and education.
• Benefits Eligible: Yes
• Schedule: Full Time
• Hours/Pay Period: 72
• Scheduled Details: 12-hour Day/Night rotation
• Weekend Schedule: Every third weekend and two holidays per year
• International Assignment: No
