Interventional Pain Management Coder/Biller

Company Description Medical Practice Advisors, LLC is a healthcare consulting and management company focused on optimizing clinical and business operations for medical practices. We are currently recruiting for a new practice start up. The physicians is an Interventional Pain Management specialist re-locating to the Lenexa, Kansas area to be closer to family. We are looking for an experienced pain management coder/biller.

Role Description The Interventional Pain Management Coder/Biller is a full-time, on-site role based in Lenexa, KS. This position is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation for interventional pain management services, assigning appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes, and ensuring coding accuracy and compliance with payer and regulatory guidelines. Daily tasks include verifying patient demographics and insurance information, preparing and submitting claims, following up on outstanding accounts, and resolving claim denials or rejections. The role also involves communicating with providers and clinical staff to clarify documentation, assisting with prior authorizations as needed, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding and billing changes specific to pain management procedures. The coder/biller contributes to accurate revenue capture, supports audit readiness, and helps maintain an efficient revenue cycle for the practice.

Qualifications






- Demonstrated knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, with specific experience in interventional pain management or related specialties.
- Experience in medical billing and revenue cycle processes, including claim submission, payment posting, denial management, and insurance follow-up.
- Familiarity with payer policies, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and compliance standards related to coding and documentation.
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems, as well as basic office software tools.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to interpret clinical documentation accurately.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with providers, staff, and insurance representatives.
- Certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent coding credential preferred; ongoing continuing education in medical coding and billing is an asset.
- Previous experience in a medical practice or healthcare billing environment; interventional pain management experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Lenexa, KS, manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
