About The Genitourinary Reconstruction Urologist Position
We are seeking a passionate Genitourinary Reconstruction Urologist to join our growing urology practice at UT Health Austin, which is part of UT Medicine, the clinical arm of Dell Medical School. Our urologic service includes specialists in minimally invasive surgery, oncology, and male sexual health.
The ideal candidate will develop a dynamic specialty-focused urology practice, providing essential care to uninsured, underinsured, and fully insured patients alike. We receive referrals from local and regional urologists, and we collaborate with plastic surgeons, colorectal surgeons, and gynecologists in managing complex pelvic reconstruction cases. Our outpatient surgeries are conducted at the UT Health Austin Ambulatory Surgery Center, a newly built state-of-the-art facility.
Research opportunities are plentiful, with the potential for collaboration with our esteemed colleagues at The University of Texas at Austin. Additionally, you will have the chance to mentor medical students and residents as part of our educational mission.
Essential Functions
• Serve as a leading expert on genitourinary reconstruction at UT Health Austin.
• Grow and enhance the genitourinary reconstruction program within our state-of-the-art facilities.
• Build strong relationships with referring physicians, hospitals, and ancillary providers.
• Participate in training and leadership of the clinical team.
• Contribute to strategic planning aimed at developing and expanding our urology practice.
• Create a robust data and evaluation framework to assess clinical quality and outcomes.
• Mentor medical students and residents in innovative care models and clinical practices.
• Help develop curricula for undergraduate and graduate medical education that focuses on genitourinary reconstruction.
• Encourage a culture of research and academic inquiry among trainees and multidisciplinary team members.
• Collaborate across various schools within The University of Texas at Austin on value-based care initiatives.
• Actively engage with departmental policies and contribute to an academic environment.

Qualifications:
Required:
• Medical degree from an accredited medical school.
• Unrestricted medical practice license in Texas (or eligibility to obtain one).
• Board certification by the American Board of Urology or qualification through the Qualifying Examination.
• Fellowship training in genitourinary reconstruction.
• Eligibility for appointment as Assistant, Associate, or full Professor in the Department of Surgery and Perioperative Care at Dell Medical School.
