Digital Forensics Analyst
Location: Indianapolis, IN
Salary: $145,000 per year
Schedule: Full-time
Position Summary
We are seeking a Digital Forensics Analyst to support the protection and investigation of enterprise, manufacturing, endpoint, network, and cloud environments.
The role will identify, acquire, preserve, and analyze digital evidence associated with security incidents, intellectual property theft, policy violations, and other cybersecurity investigations. The analyst will work closely with security, legal, HR, and other stakeholders while maintaining rigorous evidence-handling and documentation standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct digital forensic investigations across endpoints, networks, cloud services, and manufacturing systems.
- Identify, acquire, preserve, and analyze digital evidence.
- Perform forensic imaging and evidence collection while maintaining data integrity.
- Analyze system, application, network, and security logs to identify suspicious activity.
- Conduct malware triage and support investigations involving potentially malicious software.
- Maintain accurate chain-of-custody documentation for forensic evidence.
- Investigate security incidents, insider threats, intellectual property theft, and policy violations.
- Support incident response investigations and provide forensic expertise during security events.
- Assist with eDiscovery and investigations involving legal and HR stakeholders.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and defensible forensic reports and presentations.
- Communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Identify security weaknesses and recommend hardening measures based on forensic findings.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, IT, legal, HR, and other internal teams.
- Help improve forensic investigation procedures, tools, and incident-response capabilities.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has strong digital forensics and incident-response experience and is comfortable investigating complex environments across endpoints, networks, cloud infrastructure, and operational or manufacturing systems.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, evidence-handling discipline, and the ability to clearly communicate technical findings are essential. Experience supporting legal, HR, or eDiscovery investigations is highly valuable.
