Cytotechnologist - Cytology Laboratory

Role: Cytotechnologist

Responsibilities Include

• Screening and reporting gynecological and non-gynecological cytology cases, referring abnormal findings to pathologists.
• Performing quality control activities and assisting in training cytotechnology students.
• Participating in lab activities such as digital image analysis, FISH techniques, and tissue review.
• Serving as part of the Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Team for on-site adequacy evaluation.
• Providing technical support during staffing shortages and aiding in quality assurance, continuous improvement, and special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology or completion of an accredited program.
• Certification as Cytologist (CT, ASCP) or Specialist in Cytology (SCT, ASCP).
• Experience with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
• Strong communication skills, ability to prioritize, manage time, and adapt to workload changes.
• Skills assessment test required; a pass score is necessary for consideration.

Additional Details

• Two years of experience in the role are required before transferring to other positions.
• Position is full-time, with a schedule Monday to Friday and rotating weekend coverage.
• Compensation ranges from $35.45 to $53.15 per hour.
