Role Overview
This position involves providing direct patient care on a 32-bed oncology unit specializing in blood cancers, with a focus on moderate to high acuity care that includes complex interventions such as chemotherapy, pain management, and blood product support. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring patient safety, education, and emotional support. It emphasizes promoting patient and family-centered care, assessing psychosocial and cultural needs, and maintaining regulatory compliance. The position is safety-sensitive, demanding alertness and safe working practices.
Responsibilities Include
Educating patients and families on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
Participating in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and professional development activities.
Assessing physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs and communicating care plans effectively across the continuum.
Qualifications And Skills
Minimum: Nursing Diploma/Associate's degree and RN licensure; no prior experience required.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and at least 2 years of experience.
Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills are essential.
